Volkanovski attended Brady’s recent speaking tour in Australia.
Already known for his tremendous skills as a fighter and former rugby player, Alexander Volkanovski flashed some promise in a third sport during a recent interaction with NFL legend Tom Brady. The UFC featherweight champion was in attendance for the Melbourne leg of An Evening With Tom Brady, which also saw the seven-time Super Bowl winner make a stop off in Brisbane the following night. The 35-year-old was clearly thrilled about the chance to interact with Brady in Melbourne, but longtime fight fans will know that the Australian is probably dialed in on his training ahead of an upcoming title defense at UFC 298 in Anaheim, California.
Volkanovski appeared happy to just remain in the crowd as a spectator before being called to the stage, and after a quick back-and-forth, “The Great” obeyed Brady’s instructions to dash down the aisle, where he was able to catch a flawless throw from the quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a former member of the New England Patriots.
Volkanovski, who is unbeaten at featherweight, just suffered a second defeat to Islam Makhachev at UFC 294 while trying to use a last-minute opportunity to become the lightweight champion’s double title.
