Premier League boss blasts Manchester United’s transfer target with a £50 million price tag

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder stated that a summer deal for Crystal Palace striker Michael Olise would cost “minimum £50 million” because of his ongoing ties to Manchester United.
Olise was the team’s best player on Tuesday night at Selhurst Park as Crystal Palace overcame the Blades 3-2. The 22-year-old before scoring a spectacular winner twice set up colleague Eberiche Eze.

Despite missing a large chunk of the season due to injury, Olise has six goals and three assists in the Premier League. United is among the several elite teams interested in signing him.

But it won’t be cheap to sign the French under-21 international; according to Wilder, his asking price will be more than £50 million come summertime.

On Tuesday night, Wilder remarked, “We could have done with Olise having a few more days off and making sure he was properly ready for the weekend, but that’s the challenge you’re up against.”

“You also want to compete against the top players.”

It’s a challenging evening when they discover those moments that we’re searching for. We’re up against at least £50 million, is that right? You have to deal with that because I’m not sure if Dougie Freedman, the sports director of Palace, and the Crystal Palace board would even accept £50 million for both of those players, Eze and Olise. That is the purpose of the Premier League.
