England has declared its starting XI for the match in Vizag, making two changes, one day prior to the start of the second Test against India. The injured Jack Leach is replaced by uncapped spinner Shoaib Bashir, and express pacer Mark Wood is replaced in the lineup by veteran James Anderson. Prior to the second Test match in Visakhapatnam, Leach sustained an injury but performed admirably for England in the first Test. In the encounter, Bashir will make his Test debut after being unable to be selected for the first game owing to a visa issue.
In July 2023, Anderson, 41, made his The Oval debut against Australia.
Following a 28-run victory in Hyderabad, the visitors lead the series 1-0 and will now take on hosts in the second game of the series on Friday at the Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium.
According to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), there will be two changes to the squad. Jack Leach will not be playing due to a knee injury, and Shoaib Bashir will take his place.
In the Visakhapatnam Test, Bashir, an uncapped spinner, will make his debut as the visitors stick to their three-pronged spin assault.
Prior to the second Test, Bashir, who was unable to play in the first Test because of a visa issue, trained with the England squad in Hyderabad.
After playing a small part in Hyderabad, spinner Rehan Ahmed has been kept on. In the first Test, England won over India under difficult conditions. Following a 190-run deficit in the opening Ollie Pope’s outstanding 196 in the first innings propelled the visitors to victory. They won the game by a score of 28 runs thanks to Tom Hartley’s 7/62 in the second inning.
