EXCLUSIVE: Damian Priest talks about why the tag team titles are taken more seriously in the world of wrestling

Damian Priest: “I’m really proud of how much we’ve taken this Undisputed [WWE] Tag Team Championship seriously over the last couple of years.”

Damian Priest, formerly of The Judgement Day, has teamed with Finn Balor to become one of the biggest names on Monday Night Raw in recent years. This has been largely due to their reign as undefeated Tag Team Champions, which began last October when they dethroned the Cody Rhodes/Jey Uso duo. Since then, Priest and Balor have had some of the biggest defences of the year, taking on the likes of the Street Profits, #DIY and more.

In an exclusive interview, Priest reflected on a time when tag team titles weren’t seen as as important as they are now, largely due to the fact that they’re set to be defended in the main event of next month’s WrestleMania 39.

Damian Priest went on to explain that today’s tag belt holders are guaranteed a main event or moment on the grandest stage of them all – something that wasn’t the case a few years back.
