Best Analysis: Can Christian McCaffrey be traded by the 49ers and still win?

After the Saints, the 49ers boast the second-most expensive backfield in the NFL.

The Saints have a subpar quarterback in Derek Carr, so they spend a lot of money on running backs. Similar to how Jimmy Garoppolo, a terrible quarterback with the 49ers, once played. To get past Garoppolo’s limitations, the 49ers acquired Christian McCaffrey in the first place.

No matter how many weapons and how strong his pass protection is, a bad quarterback will always hold back the passing game, therefore it makes sense to spend heavily in the run game and maximize that aspect of the attack.

Quarterback Brock Purdy is not a good quarterback.

He is a quarterback in the Pro Bowl and a possible MVP. Much, much better than Garoppolo as a player. Thus, Purdy does not require one of the NFL’s most expensive backfields. He requires what every elite quarterback finds advantageous: a strong offensive line and open receivers.

Given that Christian McCaffrey recently earned the Offensive Player of the Year Award, the 49ers could trade him right now, most likely in exchange for a package that includes a first-round choice. Additionally, the 49ers would still have a fantastic running game with Deebo Samuel, Jordan Mason, and Elijah Mitchell.

Additionally, the 49ers may select an offensive lineman or tight end to enhance their passing game with the first-round pick they acquired in exchange for McCaffrey. It’s time to maximize the passing game given that they have a Pro Bowl quarterback for the first time since Jeff Garcia. Teams win Super Bowls in this manner.
