Some team evaluators think it’s feasible and even point to J.J. McCarthy of Michigan as someone who may still alter draft plans for an organization.
Some team evaluators still think J.J. McCarthy is undervalued and that he might be selected much higher than most predict, according to Ben of The Athletic.
He may even still be able to be selected among the first players selected in the 2024 NFL Draft, according to some team evaluators.

The Athletic was contacted by anonymous team evaluators regarding J.J. McCarthy.
Washington, of course, has the second pick. McCarthy’s selection by the Commanders indicates that the front office thinks more highly of the Michigan quarterback than of Jayden Daniels or Drake Maye.
Though Maye has been impressive during the past few seasons, his career achievements fall short of those of his contemporaries. However, in terms of prospects, Maye does seem to have everything needed to advance to the next level of stardom, although many feel the same regarding McCarthy as well.
