Mauricio Pochettino Actions towards Mason Mount After 4-3 win with Man United

Mason Mount and Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino were seen having a quick meeting on Thursday night following the end of play.

At Stamford Bridge, the Blues defeated Manchester United 4-3 in their Premier League match. Conor Gallagher’s goal and Cole Palmer’s hat-trick helped Chelsea secure what appeared to be an impossible three points going into stoppage time.

When Diogo Dalot fouled Noni Madueke in the 96th minute, Man United was ahead 3-2. However, Chelsea was then given a penalty. Palmer scored the winner less than two minutes after converting the penalty kick.

The Chelsea players and coaching staff joined Pochettino in celebrating following Palmer’s game-winning goal and upon the blow of the final whistle. Pochettino was seen meeting Mount, who played for Man United in the match, as he entered the field.

As Pochettino greeted the other Chelsea and Manchester United players on the field, the two shook hands. It was inevitable that Pochettino and Mount would be feeling differently following the last moments of the match in West London.

In the 86th minute, Mount replaced Alejandro Garnacho, making it his first visit back to Stamford Bridge since leaving Chelsea in the summer. The England international struggled with his fitness after leaving the Blues to finalize a £60 million transfer to Manchester United.

After missing more than four months due to a calf injury, Mount has only now resumed his playing career. The 25-year-old sustained the injury in November and didn’t play again until last month during an FA Cup cameo against Liverpool.
