The spinal stress fracture wrecked her season, and she only played two matches after that, one win and one defeat, before retiring at the 2023 Wimbledon Championships.With fresh hope, Paul Badosa began her 2024 campaign in the Adelaide International. However, she has had to withdraw from a number of events since then owing to the recurring injury.
Badosa has now provided light on the gravity of the situation. During her stay in Indian Wells in March, the doctors warned the 2021 champion that continuing her tennis career would be complicated.
As a solution, the Spaniard was prescribed cortisone injections, which would likely help her compete for “a few more years.”
