Chinese Badminton player Huang Yaqiong got the perfect celebration of her mixed doubles gold when her boyfriend Liu Yuchen proposed to her.
As she was still basking in the glory of their victory, her boyfriend, Liu Yuchen, surprised her with a heartfelt proposal.
He declared, “I’ll love you forever! Will you marry me?” Huang joyfully responded, “Yes! I do!” Liu then placed the engagement ring on Huang’s finger, and the couple embraced in celebration.
Huang and Zheng clinched the gold medal by defeating South Korean duo Kim Wonho and Jeong Naeun with scores of 21-8, 21-11.
This victory was particularly sweet for them, as it marked redemption following their silver medal finish at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
