Jon Jones Vs Tom Aspinall: “He is a Cheat”

During a recent appearance on “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” UFC interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall addressed Jon Jones’s legacy, acknowledging his elite status but asserting that Jones’s history of failed drug tests for performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) disqualifies him from being considered the greatest UFC fighter of all time.

Aspinall stated, “Let me first start by saying Jon is absolutely elite, and I completely agree with the notion that he’s one of the best fighters ever.

” However, he added, “But the way that I look at it is, he has failed a couple of drug tests. To me, that rules you out of being the best of all time.”

When asked if these failed tests make Jones a cheat, Aspinall responded affirmatively: “Yeah, of course it does. If you’re on PEDs and your opponent isn’t, that’s absolutely cheating, in my book—unless you’re both allowed to do it!”

Jones’s history with banned substances includes positive tests for hydroxy clomiphene and letrozole metabolite in 2016, leading to a one-year suspension, and a 2017 test for Turinabol, resulting in a 15-month suspension.

Despite these controversies, UFC President Dana White has described a potential unification bout between Jones and Aspinall as the “biggest heavyweight fight in UFC history.”

However, Jones has expressed reluctance, indicating he would only consider the fight for substantial financial compensation.

Aspinall, who has been calling for a unification fight with Jones, emphasized that drug use in MMA equates to cheating and believes it disqualifies Jones from GOAT (Greatest of All Time) consideration.
