Fans Roast Major College Football Conference on Saturday

Saturday had a flurry of college football bowl games take place, including the Alamo Bowl, Pop-Tarts Bowl and the Pinstripe Bowl.

In total, eight bowl games happened on Saturday. The final one of the day was Army defeating Louisiana Tech in the Independence Bowl.

Up until now, one conference has done very poorly: The ACC.I’m

All of NC State, Miami (FL), Boston College and North Carolina lost on Saturday. On Friday, Georgia Tech lost to Vanderbilt, and Rutgers and Pitt lost the day before that.

All of a sudden, the ACC is just 1-9 during bowl game season. The lone win was Syracuse defeating Washington State on Friday at the Holiday Bowl.

Last week I said the ACC might need to be removed from the Power 4. This week proves that point. ACC is 1-8 in bowl games this year and they are 13-28 since 2020. Relegation conversations need to happen,” said another before NC State’s loss.

“Jokes aside, Bowl season has proven that the ACC is currently an embarrassment of a conference. This conference has fallen far behind and fast,” said another.

“Disastrous may be too kind of a description for the ACC’s bowl season so far,” another mentioned.

“The ACC is 1-9 in the playoffs and bowl games but they got two teams in the playoffs? Worst job by a playoff committee yet,” wrote another.

The ACC is 1-9 this postseason, including a pair of double-digit CFP losses. Even in the transfer portal era, when bowl games might not be reflective of what teams really were during the season, that’s pretty abysmal,” another said.

As of Saturday night, here are the results for the ACC during this bowl game season:

LA Bowl: UNLV defeated Cal, 24-13
College Football Playoff First Round: Penn State defeated SMU, 38-10
College Football Playoff First Round: Texas defeated Clemson, 38-24
GameAbove Sports Bowl: Toledo defeated Pitt (6 OT), 48-46
Birmingham Bowl: Vanderbilt defeated Georgia Tech, 35-27
Holiday Bowl: Syracuse defeated Washington State, 52-35
Fenway Bowl: Connecticut defeated North Carolina, 27-14
Pinstripe Bowl: Nebraska defeated Boston College, 20-15
Pop-Tarts Bowl: Iowa State defeated Miami, 42-41
Military Bowl: East Carolina defeated NC State, 26-21

That is not a good run, and the ACC has three more chances to get wins. Louisville plays Washington in the Sun Bowl on December 31, Duke faces Ole Miss in the Gator Bowl on January 2, and Virginia Tech takes on Minnesota in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl on January 3.
