ON AUSTIN DILLION:It’s a bunch of BS. It’s not even freakin’ close.

In a dramatic conclusion to the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series race, Austin Dillon secured a victory amid significant controversy.

The race, held at a high-speed oval track, ended with Dillon causing a crash that involved two other drivers, leading to heated reactions from the racing community.

As the checkered flag waved, Dillon’s car collided with the cars of competitors Kyle Larson and Joey Logano in a dramatic final lap.

The incident, which resulted in both Larson and Logano spinning out and ultimately retiring from the race, was seen by many as a reckless maneuver. Dillon, who was in contention for the championship, took advantage of the chaos to snatch the lead and claim the win.

“It’s chicken s—,” said Logano, who finished 19th. “There’s no doubt about it. He is four car lengths back, not even close. Then he wrecks (Hamlin) to go along with it. Then he’s going to go up there and thank God and praise everything with his baby. It’s a bunch of BS. It’s not even freakin’ close.

Reactions from fellow drivers were swift and intense. Larson, visibly frustrated, criticized Dillon’s driving as overly aggressive and unsportsmanlike. “It’s disappointing to see a race decided like that,” Larson said.

“We were all racing hard, but there’s a line that shouldn’t be crossed.”

Logano, who had a particularly strong chance of winning the championship, expressed his anger in a post-race interview. “Austin’s move was a cheap shot,” he stated. “He didn’t race us like competitors; he took us out and cost us our shot at the title.”

Other drivers echoed similar sentiments. Denny Hamlin called for a review of the incident, suggesting that NASCAR should consider stricter penalties for such aggressive tactics.

“We need to maintain the integrity of the sport,” Hamlin said. “There’s a way to race hard without jeopardizing others’ safety and fair competition.”

NASCAR officials have announced they will review the incident, though the outcome remains uncertain.

The controversial finish has ignited a debate about racing ethics and the rules governing aggressive driving, leaving fans and drivers alike questioning the future of competitive racing in the sport.
